SAT Prep & ACT Prep Offered the Way You Want it!

More About Studyworks

Fairfax, Virginia

At Studyworks, we pride ourselves on hiring the best of the best. A majority of our teachers are full-time educators or business professionals who have a knack for working with students. We employ dynamic teachers who can not only educate, but also entertain.

After going through multiple interviews and background checks, Studyworks teachers receive extensive test prep training. Teachers learn our time-tested curriculum by going through our four-week training program. Our teachers understand the most common mistakes students make on standardized tests and how to avoid the test makers tricks and traps.

Most "school programs" simply hire Math teachers to teach the math subjects and English teachers to teach the verbal subjects, but at Studyworks our teachers focus on test prep strategies that aren't taught in your typical high school classes.

All Studyworks teachers hold a Bachelors degree or higher and have previous teaching experience at either the k-12 or college levels. A majority of teachers hold Masters degrees or higher; we seek experienced teachers and therefore do not hire college students.

Frank holds an Advanced Professional Certificate in the State of Maryland for Secondary English, and by No Child Left Behind Standards is considered highly qualified. In the last twelve years, he has worked as both an English teacher and a library media specialist. He has taught all high school grade and ability levels including Advanced Placement, honors, comprehensive, and special education inclusion English classes. He believes that academic rigor and a sense of humor should meet up more than they do. With this philosophy in mind, he tries to make his classes challenging and enjoyable, all at once. His heroes include Sting (a former English teacher), Gandhi, Maria Montessori, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Courtney Henke (another Studyworks instructor). He currently teaches high school English and drama in Maryland, and works at our Fairfax and Vienna locations (with occasional interludes at other Studyworks sites).
